The laboratory is located in Hoover Building on the 2nd Floor in Room 200, and houses the following equipment, software, and materials for student and faculty research:

iWorx PK214 Psychophysiology System

Measuring relationships between human psychological phenomena and physiological states.  All equipment is  non-invasive and includes the following:
    -pulse plethysmograph
    -respiration monitor
    -event marker (reaction time device)
    -temperature sensor
    -galvanic skin response monitor
    -non-invasive blood pressure monitor
    -leads for ECG/EMG/EEG
    -4-channel acquisition unit

MediaLab

Helps to design experiments on the computer.  Can randomize items or stimuli presentation.  Allows participants to input responses multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, and open-ended format.  Can present stimuli using MS Word, MS PowerPoint, HTML, and multi-media files (audio, video, image). Data can be written to ASCII text file for analysis in SPSS or MS Excel.

Resource Library: Textbooks, videos, and manuals are available for checkout to help students and faculty in conducting research and interpreting data. Contact Dr. Bui for more information.

The laboratory is designed to assist graduating seniors in conducting their required senior projects, help professors in their professional projects, and introduce any student to research in general.  The Department hopes that the laboratory will also be utilized in the curriculum of faculty in their various courses for student projects or demonstrations.
